Key Factors to Increase Your Search Engine Ranking and Increase Traffic to Your Website

It is worth classifying the basic assumptions to be enforced to increase website traffic and search engine rankings.

targeted web traffic•    Create a website that adds substance to the type of products, information or services that you offer.
•    Your page content should include your primary and secondary targeted keywords within the first 50 words of your page and also distribute them throughout the rest of the document
•    Researching and properly using the most effective keyword phrases is key to attracting targeted web site traffic of paying customers.
•    Make sure the keyword phrases you select are properly applied to your site, not only as links in the content, but also in the tags (i.e. Title, META Tags, Headers, etc.)
•    The design and layout of your site should be clean, simple and easy to navigate to all of the other key pages on your site, making it easy for your potential customers to find the product or service they are looking for and consequently purchasing it.
•    Make sure all of your pages (not just your main home page) are submitted to the most popular search engines (i.e. Google, Yahoo! and MSN). There are services or consultants that you can hire online to do this for you at a very minimal cost. Be sure this is a manual submission. Do not engage an automated submission service.
•    Continually monitor any changes in the procedures and algorithms of the major search engines and so that you can fine tune your website to modify for these changes and make sure your rankings stay high.  Use online tools and utilities to keep track of how your website is doing.
•    Determine your strongest competition sites and see what they are doing to achieve the top rankings.  Pay especially close attention to their keywords, content, design, etc.

•    Make your site one that visitors will enjoy visiting by providing free reports or bonuses, newsletters, coupons, etc. so that they will remember your site and return often.
•    Establish you and your website as authorities in your particular field by submitting articles and providing expert advice on forums, etc.
•    When selling products online, use simple payment and shipment methods to make your customer’s experience fast and easy.
•    It is always advisable to hire professionals to help in any areas of expertise that you are not comfortable with. This can be money well spent and a sound investment in creating a site that will attract lots of traffic.
•    Don’t look at your website as a static brochure. Treat it as a dynamic, ever-changing sales tool and location, just like your real store to which your customers visit, even if you have a home based business, with the same seriousness.
